SEVTAP ÇAPAN was born in Istanbul, studied acting at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center for four years between 1991 and 1995.When she was in her senior year, she joined the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theater (İBBŞT) and started her professional acting career. She has been known for her roles in movies and television series since 1996.Sevtap Çapan, who teaches acting in many schools and she is interested in the culinary part of art. She wrote five plays and two of them were included in the repertoire of İBBŞT. She is a voice actor at NTV Studios for dubbing many roles. She served as the Founder and President of the Beykoz Branch of the Turkish Women's Union from between 2016 to 2020. In 2016, well-known biographer Hamdi Gültekin has wrote a book named “AKTRİS SEVTAP ÇAPAN”, about her acting and artistic life. As of 2017, she is the General Artistic Director of Theater P.A.S, which is the establishment of Profesyonel Artı Sonsuz Company. Again same year Sevtap Çapan started her career as a columnist under the title “Bir Aktris Yazıyor” in Bursa Mora Magazine. She continues to write columns at the Özgün Haber that is a local newspaper in Beykoz. She was retired early with the compulsory retirement law in 2019.The musical play  “Peri Kız Müzikali” that she wrote made its world premiere in IBBŞT in the 2019 - 2020 season with her own directing and it was published as a book in 2020 with the label of Pozitif Yayınları. Sevtap Çapan continues her active acting life with full of joy in art.
